Green Wheelie Bin
for normal household waste and household material that cannot yet be
recycled.
The next weekly green bin collection for
normal household waste will be on
Wednesday morning the 19th
of November 2008.
Collection times may vary but are often quite early in
the morning.

Blue Wheelie Bin for Waste Paper, Glass, and
Aluminium Cans.
The next blue bin collection for waste
paper and cardboard, glass bottles or
glass containers for food, and aluminium
drinks cans is on
Friday morning the 28th
November 2008.
The morning collection time is
variable but may be quite early, often before 8.00 a.m.
Residents
without
blue bin facilities should make certain they have a blue
plastic bag (in the first place obtainable from Craven District Council
in which to put their waste paper, Telephone Customer Services on 01756
706203). This blue bag should then be placed at your normal bin collection
point on the same date as the blue bin collections. Cardboard must not be
placed in the blue plastic bags. Please see the Local Authorities notice
on Waste Management given further below on this news page.

Brown Wheelie Bin for garden waste.
The next brown bin collection for
garden waste will be on
Friday morning the 21st
of November 2008.
Collection times may vary but are planned to
be early
for Austwick and could be at 7.00am.
Get up early or put
your brown bins out Thursday evening.
Please Help the environment by recycling as
much as possible.
We are fortunate in having a Council that is
trying very hard to make it easier to recycle waste. Please help by
sorting waste out and placing it in the correct bin.
There is now the facility to recycle plastic
containers but the collection sites are in the municipal car parks in Settle.
Waste Paper including cardboard, may be left in
the Settle Swimming Pool Car Park in the container trailer. The collection
there is sold to raise funds to support the Settle Swimming Pool. Please do not
pack your paper in plastic bags; keep your paper and cardboard in paper or card
containers, or take them loose as there is certain to be empty cardboard boxes
you may use at the site. However, do not leave piles of newspapers in a loose
conditions so that they may blow about in the wind.
Please remember that the site is manned by
unpaid volunteers; please do all you can to make their work a little easier

Austwick Community Players

It was all Stetsons, spurs and smoking
guns for the Players performances of 'Gone West'. Based, loosely,
around the mythical American mid-west town of Austwickville and most of the
scenes taking place in Earl's Saloon, there was the can-can danced by
gartered bar room girls, a bunch of would-be Mexican bandits who drank too
much Tequila, a tribe of hungry Indians, and a mouthy signorita being taken
hostage, it was a rootin', tootin' great time for the large, appreciative
audiences at each of the three performances
