Determine that you have
a physical connection to your SAP or Meshbox
There should be the two
monitors
in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. If it has a red cross on it then
either:
1.
Your
sap box is turned off or has lost its configuration
2.
Your cable
is disconnected
3.
Your
LAN
card is disabled
4.
You
have
developed a computer fault
If there isn't a red cross
double Click on the icon. It should say Local Area Connection Status.
Connected.
2.
Determine if you are getting an IP Address
If
the LAN Card shows as connected you need to determine what the IP Address is.
On
win95/98 machines click start, run and type winipcfg
The IP address should be
192.168.X.X
If it is anything different
(i.e. 169 etc) then reboot your SAP box. Wait 2 minutes. Then recheck IP
address. If it is not as above then reboot the machine.
On
Win2000 or XP click start, run and type cmd
In the dos window type
ipconfig
The IP address should be
192.168.X.X
If it is anything different
(i.e. 169 etc) then reboot your SAP box. Wait 2 minutes. Then recheck IP
address. If it is not as above then reboot the machine.
3. If you are getting
the correct IP address
If you are getting the
correct IP address, determine that you are logging on correctly, that you are
not working offline and that you have not altered the configuration of
explorer.
Open Explorer. Click Tools,
Internet Options, and select the Connections Tab. Make sure you are using the
LAN as your default connection. Click Lan Settings. Make sure no proxy is
selected.
4.
If the above fails, prove internet connectivity
Try
pinging
www.google.com from a dos
prompt
To
open a Dos prompt:
On Win2000 or XP
click start, run and type cmd
On win95/98 click start,
run and type command.com
If this fails, disable any
firewalls and retry.
5.
SAP Configuration
Do not try to alter
the configuration of your SAP box UNLESS SPECIFICALLY INSTRUCTED TO BY ACBA
SUPPORT
The configuration of the SAP
box may have been reset.
